Terms of Use
The ground rules for using OpenRoad, plus the limits of what a gear review can tell you.
Last updated: September 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of openroad.top. By reading, browsing or otherwise using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site. The terms apply to everyone who visits, whether or not they contact us.
1. What you may do with this site
OpenRoad is published for personal, non-commercial use. You are welcome to read the reviews, print a page for your own trip planning, share links with friends and forums, and quote a short passage with attribution and a link back to the source page. You may not republish substantial parts of the catalog, mirror the site, wrap it in frames, use it to train or fine-tune machine-learning models in bulk, or resell any part of it without our written permission. Product names, brand names and trademarks mentioned in reviews belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
2. Reviews are opinion, not professional advice
What we publish is an editorial assessment of gear, based on manufacturer documentation and our own use of the products. It is not a safety certification, an engineering evaluation, a guarantee of fitness for a particular trip, or professional advice of any kind. Outdoor activities carry real risk: weather, terrain, altitude, fatigue, wildlife and equipment failure can all cause injury or death. Specifications and instructions change, and the manufacturer's own documentation always takes precedence over anything written here. You are responsible for your own safety, for inspecting and maintaining your equipment, for knowing your own limits, and for planning trips appropriate to your experience. Nothing on this site replaces qualified instruction or local guidance.
3. Accuracy, availability and prices
We work to keep dossiers accurate and current, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Prices, availability, weights and specifications are supplied by third parties and change without notice; any price shown is indicative only and is not an offer. Links may break, models may be discontinued, and content may be corrected, replaced or removed at any time without notice. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.
4. Third-party links and affiliate disclosure
The site contains links to retailers, manufacturers and other third-party websites, including affiliate links from which we may earn a commission if you make a purchase. That commission never affects a score or a verdict, and it costs you nothing extra. We do not control linked sites, do not endorse their content or practices, and are not responsible for their terms, prices or privacy policies. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OpenRoad and the people who write for it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or connected with your use of the site or your reliance on anything published here — including decisions about purchasing, carrying or using gear. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
6. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. The version published on this page is the current one, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force.
